The last time that I was at Trader Joe's, I decided to quickly choose a bottle of wine that was new to me. I saw a big TJ's "staff pick" sign and liked the "Reggiano Lambrusco" label on the bottle. Hey, it's imported from Italy. Italians know all about wine. It must be good. Oh, was I in for a surprise. I should have noticed the champagne-style wire retainer on the cork. Anyway, this turned out to be a "rosso dolce" or a "soft red" wine. It's very sweet, and carbonated. It tastes a lot like grape soda. It was $5, and would make a good substitute for fruit punch. I don't think there is any food/drinking situation that would benefit from a rosso dolce.
