Garlic breadsticks

I like to add the yeast, water and sugar to a bowl and let it foam. Then I add everything else except the flour, and mix. Finally, I add the flour and knead to make a standard dough.

* 1 cup warm water (70 to 80)
* 3 tablespoons soft butter
* 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
* 3 cups bread flour
* 2 tablespoons sugar
* 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
* 1 teaspoon garlic powder
* 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

Cut the dough into 12 pieces and roll each piece into a 4 to 6" rope.

Place 2" apart onto greased baking sheets.

Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes or until doubled in volume.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Note: Be careful not to overbake or they will become tough.

Topping

* 1 tablespoon melted butter
* 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese

Immediately brush with butter and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

  1. Nice receipt :)
    I would try to ground the garlic just before cooking instead of buying it grounded.
    This way it is more tasty :)

  2. Good idea. You can put as much garlic as you like in these breadsticks!
